Our Voice in the 19th Legislative District

Since first being elected to the New Jersey General Assembly
in 1995, Assemblyman John Wisniewski has been a tireless
advocate for the people of the 19th District. Working with his
19th District legislative colleagues, he has brought more than
$39 million in state grants to our communities.

Over the years, Assemblyman Wisniewski has also helped
create and sustain many community based initiatives,
including:

The Senior Cell Phone program, which recycles donated
cell phones to area senior citizens for use in emergency
situations, free of charge. The donation of carbon
monoxide and smoke detectors to area residents.
Child safety seminars addressing issues such as
proper use of child car seats and fire safety.

Protecting one of New Jersey's
most precious assets

Assemblyman Wisniewski takes the lead in making driver safety an important part of student education. Taking the recommend- ations of the Teen Driver Safety Commission, Wisniewski, working with his fellow Assembly Democrats, has helped propose a set of new bills in the legislature aimed at standardizing and improving the quality and effectiveness of driver safety instruction.

"The only way to become better at anything is through practice, and driving is no exception," says Wisniewski, the transportation panel chairman. "Providing teen drivers with adequate behind-the-wheel time, standardized driver education and a healthy respect for the consequences of bad driving will help make them safer, more responsible motorists."
