
John S. Wisniewski is a veteran member of the New Jersey Legislature
who brings vigor and commitment to his work on behalf of the residents
of his legislative district and the state. He is a lifelong resident
of Sayreville, New Jersey whose commitment to community service was
nurtured by his parents as a youth and is now supported by his wife
and three children.
A graduate of Rutgers University and Seton Hall Law School, Assemblyman
Wisniewski is the managing partner of the law firm of Wisniewski and
Associates, LLC, in East Brunswick, NJ.
His background of community activism includes the Sayreville Cable Advisory
Board, the Senior Citizen Housing Task Force for Middlesex County, Middlesex
County Planning Board, and the Sayreville Board of Education's Building
Utilization Committee. Assemblyman Wisniewski has served on the Board
of Trustees for the United Way of Central New Jersey and was an Executive
Board Member of the Middlesex County Arts and Education Council.
Assemblyman Wisniewski was first elected to the New Jersey General Assembly
in 1995. Throughout his tenure, John has worked diligently for the people
of his district and of his state. He has centered his agenda around
the betterment of his community. His skill as a legislator is evident
in the great number of bills he has introduced in the Assembly which
have become law.

Assemblyman Wisniewski also sponsored the bill that was signed into
law which increased the property tax reduction for Veterans and seniors,
legislation designed to strengthen Megan's Law by keeping sexual predators
away from areas where children go to school and play, legislation which
required newly constructed elevators in residential buildings to accommodate
stretchers, legislation which required the implementation of a fire
command structure in mutual aid fires, legislation which required that
cell phone use be noted in traffic accidents, legislation that established
a penalty for the theft of someone's personal identification information,
and legislation which established a scholarship program for the families
of the victims of the September 11th terrorist attack.
The Assemblyman's role as Chairman of the Assembly Transportation Committee
gives him the opportunity to work closely with the Department of Transportation
as well as New Jersey Transit to improve road and transit conditions
throughout the state. In his role as Chairman of the Assembly Transportation
Committee, Assemblyman Wisniewski has led a fact finding probe into
the state's E-Zpass system. After hearing testimony for several weeks,
the Transportation Committee issued a report of its recommendations
and findings with regard to the E-Zpass system. Assemblyman Wisniewski
is a prime sponsor of the Motor Vehicle Security and Customer Service
Act which was signed into law on January 28, 2003. Most recently, he
is a prime sponsor of A-3392 which would consolidate two of the state's
toll road agencies.
The Assemblyman's commitment to community and government was recognized
by the citizens of the 19th Legislative District when they elected him
in 1995, then overwhelmingly re-elected him five times. His peers in
the Assembly also recognized his work by appointing him to serve in
a leadership role as Deputy Speaker as well as the Chairman of the Transportation
and Public Works Committee and Chairman of the New Jersey Fire Safety
Commission in the 211th Legislature.
