Our Voice in the 19th Legislative District

Since first being elected to the New Jersey General Assembly
in 1995, Assemblyman John Wisniewski has been a tireless
advocate for the people of the 19th District. Working with his
19th District legislative colleagues, he has brought more than
$39 million in state grants to our communities.

Over the years, Assemblyman Wisniewski has also helped
create and sustain many community based initiatives,
including:

The Senior Cell Phone program, which recycles donated
cell phones to area senior citizens for use in emergency
situations, free of charge. The donation of carbon
monoxide and smoke detectors to area residents.
Child safety seminars addressing issues such as
proper use of child car seats and fire safety.

Projects
Assemblyman Wisniewski has answered Governor Corzine's challenge for an alternative to his "Financial Restructuring and Debt Reduction Plan" which would raise tolls by 800%. Assemblyman Wisniewski's proposal entitled, "A Different Road" is a hybrid of a lesser toll increase with an increase in the gas tax, which would be introduced incrementally. Under Governor Corzine's plan, the toll hike would disproportionately fall on the backs of people living in 7 of the 21 counties who will pay 75% of the revenue. Wisniewki's proposal aims to alieviate the burden Corzine's plan puts on commuters.
